**How BMI is Calculated for Kids and Teens:**

BMI for children and teens is shown as a "centile," which compares their BMI to others of the same age and sex.

- **For example:**

A girl at the 75th centile weighs more than 75 out of 100 girls her age.

Here's what the centiles mean:

- **Underweight:** 2nd centile or below

- **Healthy Weight:** Between the 2nd and 91st centiles

- **Overweight:** 91st centile or above

- **Very Overweight:** 98th centile or above

**Note:** This BMI calculation doesn’t consider muscle mass, which weighs more than fat.
